Taking a Stand

This was an in class project, initially meant to simply be an exploration of constructing a form out of a material I haven't worked with much. It wound up taking on a life of it's own, as I got about half-way through the assembly of it when the Parkland High School shooting happened in Florida. This is the first piece I've ever done that's taken on a political message, addressing gun violence in the US.

Made entirely from cardboard, it's held together with hot glue and has sporadically placed castings taken off of a bullet casing embedded in it.

Overall, I'm happy with it as a first step, but I want to try and take it further, so stay tuned.
